Welcome to the Capital Beltway Studies website. This website provides an overview of the full project, studies underway, project schedule, and public involvement.

These studies primarily address the Maryland portion of the Capital Beltway, which extends from the American Legion Bridge to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. They are located within Montgomery and Prince George's counties and include the existing 28 interchanges.

Currently, SHA is focusing efforts on the two Joint Mobility Studies with Virginia and an evaluation of the existing Beltway pavement and bridges. The Full Beltway Study is currently on hold.
