

8 General Purpose & 4 Express Toll Lanes, Elevated:
This alternate would provide two additional tolled lanes per direction on elevated structure in the median of the existing roadway.
Typical section would include eight general purpose lanes, two Express Toll Lanes at-grade and 2 Express Toll Lanes on structure.
Tolls would vary based on traffic conditions or time of day so the Express Toll Lanes would not become congested.
Similar to the previous alternates, this alternate would involve the construction of interchange ramps as high as 80 feet with noise and aesthetic impacts more severe than those caused by an alternate that does not include an elevated roadway. The construction and maintenance costs for this alternate appear to be prohibitively high.
SHA is recommending this alternate not be carried forward for detailed study.
