MAY 2004 OPEN HOUSES: EXPRESS TOLL LANES AND THEIR PROPOSED USE ON THE CAPITAL BELTWAY
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), State Highway Administration (SHA), and the Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA) conducted two Open Houses to discuss Express Toll Lanes and their applications on the Capital Beltway. These meetings reinitiated the public involvement activities for the Capital Beltway study, updated the public on the status of the study, and requested public input on the alternates that are under consideration.
The meetings were held on Monday, May 17, 2004 in Montgomery County and Tuesday, May 18, 2004 in Prince George's County. The two locations were selected for the convenience of the citizens in the area and the same information was presented at both meetings. The open house format will allow each participant to conduct a self-paced review of important study information. The displays depicting study information were available between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. There was no formal presentation.
